Port of Vancouver A former manufacturing facility operated at this site from the mid 1950's until the mid 1960's. The current site owner, the Port of Vancouver, purchased the property in 1982. The subsurface was contaminated by chlorinated volatile organic compounds. Primary contaminants of concern included trichloroethene (TCE) and tetrachloroethene (PCE). Historic Railroad Maintenance Facility This site had petroleum-affected soil and groundwater contamination caused by a diesel fuel leak. Up to 243 mg/kg VOCs and 91 mg/kg PAHs were noted. The site is an historic landmark and is listed on both New York State as well as U.S. Historic Registry. As a result of the landmark status, excavation of petroleum-impacted soils was not an option.
